Ref: Board’s Letter No. E(NG)II/2024/RC-4/9 Dated 15.10.2024 (RBE No. 96/2024)
In accordance with the Board’s letter No. E(NG)II/2024/RC-4/9 (RBE No. 96/2024) dated 15.10.2024, all Zonal Railways, Production Units (PUs), and RDSO have been authorized to re-engage retired non-gazetted Railway staff in Pay Levels 1 to 7 against vacant posts. The re-engagement is contingent upon the staff being re-engaged at the same pay level held at the time of their retirement. Below are the key provisions outlined in the Railway Board’s Order RBE No. 115/2024, issued on 31.12.2024.
Recent Modifications to Re-engagement Policy:
The scope of re-engagement has now been extended to include non-gazetted posts in Pay Level-8 and Pay Level-9 as well. Consequently, the following modification has been made to Para (i) of Board’s letter No. E(NG)II/2024/RC-4/9 (RBE No. 96/2024) dated 15.10.2024:
Revised Clause:
“(i) Non-gazetted Railway staff retired in Pay Level-1 to Pay Level-9 may be considered for re-engagement against vacant posts, subject to the stipulation that they may be re-engaged only against the post holding the same pay level they were in at the time of retirement.”
Key Takeaways:
- Retired non-gazetted Railway staff from Pay Level-1 to Pay Level-9 are eligible for re-engagement.
- The re-engagement is strictly based on the same pay level held during retirement.
- This revised policy expands the scope to cover Pay Levels 8 and 9 for non-gazetted staff.
