Interest Rate on Provident Funds for 2025-26: 7.1% for Q1 (April – June)

The Government of India has officially announced a 7.1% interest rate for subscribers of various Provident Funds for the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26, which will be effective from 1st April 2025 to 30th June 2025. This rate applies to multiple provident funds, including the General Provident Fund (GPF) and several others.

7.1% Interest Rate for Provident Funds in 2025-26

For the upcoming financial year 2025-26, the interest rate on Provident Fund accounts has been set at 7.1%. This new rate will apply to the following funds during the first quarter, from April 1, 2025, to June 30, 2025:

  • General Provident Fund (Central Services)
  • Contributory Provident Fund (India)
  • All India Services Provident Fund
  • State Railway Provident Fund
  • General Provident Fund (Defence Services)
  • Indian Ordnance Department Provident Fund
  • Indian Ordnance Factories Workmen’s Provident Fund
  • Indian Naval Dockyard Workmen’s Provident Fund
  • Defence Services Officers Provident Fund
  • Armed Forces Personnel Provident Fund

Resolution Published in the Gazette of India

This decision is part of an official Finance Ministry Resolution, which will be published in the Gazette of India for public awareness. The interest rate of 7.1% will remain in force for the first quarter of the financial year, i.e., from April 1 to June 30, 2025.
